EVENT DESCRIPTION
This is an open-tie event for rope bondage enthusiasts to practice rope skills with others: labbing, sharing, and tying playfully.
This event will take place in Watertown, MA.
We will facilitate one or more official skill shares per event with the purpose of fulfilling rope community needs and interests outside of classroom experiences. We will find out what attendees want to practice and learn, and facilitate shares led by those who are skilled and willing. Most often this will be using un-conference style workshops at the beginning of the event.
We expect attendees to know the basics of rope safety/risks, scene etiquette, and have the ability to be self-directed with their rope experience. Participation in any skill share is optional, so you can learn from your peers or practice on your own, as you see fit.
Please be respectful when approaching others with requests to tie or share skills. You will have the opportunity during opening circle to express what you’re looking for and if you’re open to being approached.
Wicked SMart Rope Share is an 18+, substance free event.
VETTING
- If you have previously attended a rope class with SBC, you DO NOT need to be vetted. Please feel free to buy a ticket.
- If you have NOT previously attended an SBC rope class, please complete our VETTING APPLICATION alongside your ticket purchase. To be vetted, you will need to provide TWO references who can speak to your etiquette and behavior in kink spaces. If you do not have two references, you are not eligible to be vetted at this time.
While we are always accepting new vetting applications, no new vetting applications will be considered for an event within 7 days of the event. Unvetted ticket holders will forfeit their tickets 7 days prior to the event and those tickets will become available to vetted individuals on the waitlist. WHAT TO BRING
- Your rope kit
- Your emergency cutting tool (example: safety medical shears, seat belt cutter, etc.)
- Suspension gear
- A mat or blanket
- Water bottle (There is a filling station.)
EVENT CONFIRMATION
All event details (including address) will be sent out 7 days before the event and 1 day before the event. Please add [email protected] to your address book so our email doesn’t go to your spam folder. If you purchased your ticket after the first confirmation email is sent, you may not receive the address until the day before.
SCHEDULE
APRIL AND MAY
- 1:00 – 1:30pm – Doors Open, Social time & Suggest/Vote for Rope Skill Share
- 1:30-1:45pm – Opening Circle: Consent workshop & community standards (required for all), Preferred name, Pronouns, and Purpose, Introduce Tonight’s Skill Share
- 1:45 – 3:30pm – Skill Share
- 3:30 – 5:00pm – Open tie
VENUE & ACCESSIBILITY
Watertown
- The venue is located in Watertown, MA. Exact location will be given to confirmed ticket holders.
- The space is on the second floor of the building. There is no elevator access – attendees will need to walk up one flight of stairs.
- There are multiple single-stall gender neutral bathrooms available.
- There will be multiple hardpoints at this venue.
TRANSPORTATION
Watertown
- The venue is located in Watertown, MA. Exact location will be given to confirmed ticket holders.
- The venue is a 2 minute walk from Watertown Square, accessible via the 70 and 71 busses. The venue is a 7 minute walk from Watertown Yard, accessible by the 52, 57, and 504 busses.
- Ample metered parking is available is available nearby in the lot located at 19 Spring St. Metered parking is enforced until 8:00pm (except Sundays).
DRESS CODE
- Dress code is flexible at this venue while inside the event space. You must always wear a minimum of underwear (bottoms).
- You must be street legal when elsewhere in the building, so please be prepared to cover up when entering the building and leaving the event space to go into the hallway or the bathroom.
- Please note – this is not a play space.
TICKETS & PAYMENT OPTIONS
Payments will be processed through Eventbrite with sliding scale pricing. All tickets provide the same entry (1 person per ticket) to the event. Pricing is access-based, not “pay what you want”. If you benefit from systemic privilege, please consider paying more.
If you would like to attend but finances or paying through Eventbrite is a barrier for you, please email us at [email protected] or send us a message on Fetlife or Instagram @SMartBostonCollab. Nobody will be turned away for lack of funds.
If you would like to make a contribution to SBC to support our instructors, opperations, and future events, please select the Donation ticket. Please note that donation tickets do not provide admittance to the event and are not tax deductible.
REFUND POLICY
We are able to issue refunds, upon request, if we are able to fill your spot at the event. We will also consider issuing refunds in cases with extenuating circumstances. We are always happy to accept unused tickets as donations. If you are unable to attend due to event details that are publicly available (such as venue details, transportation, waiver requirement, or vetting requirements), we do not consider this an extenuating circumstance and reserve the right to adhere to our refund policy.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Attendees of all events are encouraged to be fully vaccinated and boosted. We also encourage folks to practice regular at home testing before events to ensure you are COVID negative. Attendees are required to STAY HOME from any event, and notify organizers of their absence, if they are feeling at all ill.
