Consent Policy
SMart Boston Collab (SBC) is a welcoming place for everyone, regardless of gender, race, role, age, or any other characteristic. Attendees, guests, teachers, and facilitators are required to not engage in rude, discriminatory, offensive, or abusive behavior towards others at any time. We invite and encourage everyone in our spaces to consider their own language and posture and ensure they are making the space as welcoming and inclusive as possible by calling in microaggressions and harmful language or behavior. We require all folks attending our events to take part in a short consent workshop that touches on these topics in more detail.
SBC strives to adhere to the Kink Educators and Producers Code of Conduct. Our Consent Policy is a living, changing, growing policy. If you would like to see amendments or alterations, please discuss with one of our team members or reach out to us anonymously through our feedback form.
Vetting Process & Guidelines
To ensure that we are keeping our community a safe and welcoming space, we are asking all attendees wanting to attend open tie events to go thorough our vetting process. We are always working on refining our vetting criteria to be as inclusive and safe as possible for containing a private, yet growing community.
To be vetted, you will need complete a VETTING APPLICATION and provide TWO references who can speak to your etiquette and behavior in kink spaces. If you do not have two references, you are not eligible to be vetted at this time and we highly recommend attending some classes or munches to get to know us and our community before applying to be vetted.
We always encourage folks to get vetted, if it is accessible to them, to have the maximum access to all our events. However, you DO NOT need to be vetted to attend the Wicked SMart Rope Share IF you have previously attended a rope class with SBC.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions about vetting.
Event Waiver & Code of Conduct
All attendees are required to read our code of conduct and sign an event waiver before participating in any SMart Boston Collab ticketed event. Before attending our events, please review our Waiver and Code of Conduct. Copies of both documents will be available for review and signing at each ticketed event. We reserve the right to update our waiver and code of conduct at any time for any reason.
All participants are also required to attend our 10-minute consent workshop before participating in ticketed events. The consent workshop is offered at the beginning of every class and open-tie event. If you arrive late to a class and have not previously attended the workshop, we reserve the right to deny entry to an event.
Payment & Refund Policy
Tickets & Payment Options
Payments will be processed through Eventbrite with sliding scale pricing. All Scholarship Tickets, General Admission Tickets, and Supporter Tickets all provide entry for one person per ticket to the event. Pricing is access-based, not “pay what you want”. If you benefit from systemic privilege, please consider purchasing a Supporter Ticket. If you do not benefit from systemic privilege or are in financial need, please purchase a Scholarship Ticket.
If you would like to attend but finances or paying through Eventbrite is a barrier for you, please Contact Us via our website or email us at [email protected]. Nobody will be turned away from our educational events for lack of funds.
If you would like to make a contribution to Smart Boston Collab to support our instructors, operations, and future events, please select the Donation Ticket. Please note that donation tickets do not provide admittance to the event and are not tax deductible.
Refund Policy
We are able to issue refunds, upon request, if we are able to fill your spot at the event. We will also consider issuing refunds in cases with extenuating circumstances. We are always happy to accept unused tickets as donations. If you are unable to attend due to event details that are publicly available (such as venue details, transportation, waiver requirement, or vetting requirements), we do not consider this an extenuating circumstance and reserve the right to adhere to our refund policy.
If you are unable to attend for any reason, please email us at [email protected] so we can open a spot on the waitlist for another kinkster. No refunds will be issued within 24 hours of the event.
Health and Safety Policy
Attendees of all events are encouraged to be fully vaccinated and boosted. We also encourage folks to practice regular at home testing before events to ensure you are COVID negative. Attendees are required to stay home from any event, and notify organizers of their absence, if they are feeling at all ill. Masks will be available, for no additional charge, at all indoor events.
