About Us
SMart Boston Collab was founded in February 2023 by three queer femmes passionate about creating a welcoming and accessible kink community in the Boston area. Collectively we have nearly three decades of experience in the kink community, spanning the East Coast and parts of Europe. Our mission in founding SMart Boston Collab was to create space for the kink community in Boston and provide opportunities for members of the scene to learn, grow, and connect by building collaborations and community.
As our organization grew, so did our team. After running events in collaboration with Wicked Rope, another local rope organization, two of the Wicked Rope founding members joined the SMart Boston team. All five members of our team contribute to the operations of SMart Boston Collab through teaching, facilitating, and administrative work, as we continue to collaborate and co-produce events.
Today, we host a variety of events each month that are open to all and catered to the needs and interests of our local community. Our event offerings including rope classes, open-tie events, discussion-based classes on consent and the kink community, and outdoor munches during the warm season.
Mission
SMart Boston Collab seeks to provide education, social spaces, and accessible opportunities to learn about and practice kink in the Boston area. Through collaborative programming, we aim to provide space for our community members to build kinky skills, community, and connections in the greater Boston area. We strive to be a welcoming, progressive, queer-positive, anti-racist, gender-affirming, body-sovereignty respecting, ability-inclusive, consent focused community where all individuals are encouraged to express themselves freely, including through the art of kink.
Vision
Our vision is to create collaborations and partnerships across New England to provide numerous quality opportunities for community engagement and education in the kink community. We believe that kink is a form of identity, self-expression, and even an art form. Everyone should have access to space where they can learn and express themselves however they chose.
